Hello lovelies!
I had a fellow student (okay, it was Kim, and she probably doesn't mind me using her name - I hope) ask me about the cute overskirts some of you wear to class. Okay, I know Tiffany has a couple and maybe Mellie, probably Robyn? Anyway, I know I have asked Tiffany before, and she made hers. Is everyone so crafty?!? If you made your own, can we get some advice? What materials work best, how to size/plan, etc. I've always wanted to make one, but might need guidance the first time. I am still willing to have everyone over for a little crafting party. Who's in??

Mon, March 17, 2008 - 9:33 AMLinnett made a pattern awhile back, and that's what Melanie's used to make mine. These little skirts are the reason why I'm always on the look out for great fabric with 2-way stretch. 4-way stretch works too. Now that I have my sewing machine back up, I suppose I could just copy the pattern (or trace one from one of my hip skirts) and make my own! Projects!!!!
Is there going to be a crafty night this Friday? -

Fri, March 21, 2008 - 7:47 AMI'm not going to be able to make class next week either......I have concert tickets. I'll be home tonight with no plans. Anybody who wants to craft can give me a call. I wouldn't mind practicing a little, too. I am very excited about learning to make the little skirty things, so if nobody gets together tonight, let's pick a new one right away!! Hope everybody is enjoying the beginning of spring! -

Sun, March 30, 2008 - 6:34 PMI made a couple of overskirts.... well all I did was buy some fabric pre-cut at the store (Hobby Lobby). I cut a diagonal slit in the middle of the fabric, only big enough to step into. Then, you step into it, pull it up and voila!!! Instant skirt! If you do cut the slit too big to keep in sitting on your hips, just safety pin any slack to keep it up.
Mellie, I'm all for craft night!!!!! Even if all i do is sit and watch. I still owe you money from like forever ago anyway.
