Re: New Year's Resolutions
Fri, January 4, 2008 - 9:00 AMblah.
Quit smoking.
This is the year I will finally be able to do the cursed splits! For real, I have dreams that I can do them. I'm tired of stretching my body to injury in the 2 weeks prior to when I need to be able to do the splits for a gig. It's dumb, harmful, annoying, and keeps me out of certain choreos/formations/etc. I'm tired of it. Please bust my chops about it often sos I don't forget!
Anyone else? -

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Fri, January 4, 2008 - 9:21 AMEat better. As in more healthfully, on a more consistent basis.
Matty and I are no longer young whippersnappers, so I figure we cannot continue to
A. smoke a lot
B. drink a lot
C. eat whatever we like and
D. exercize inconsistently.
I want to do away with at least two out of four. -

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Mon, January 7, 2008 - 7:20 AMDang, Hadara! You've got lots of goals! Best of luck all the way around. Don't burn yourself out.
2 days without a cigarette, and I only had 1 over the weekend. That's major improvement considering that the holidays are when I smoke the most. I just have to consider what I gain: better health on so many levels, better dance stamina, youthful looking skin for more years, clothes and hair smell fresh (even when they're not), saving money, um...lots of other stuff I'm sure.
My splits progress hasn't really been happening, but I've also not really been working out in general. Tonight the gym regimen starts after work, and I think yoga picks back up this week. This goal is going to take awhile I think. Oh well, that makes it worth it!

i have quit smoking before and I just either need to ween down or go cold turkey.
bleck bleck bleck... truthfully i dont wanna do any of it.. but if i dont i'll just be stuck in this same rut and thats no good -

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Mon, January 7, 2008 - 9:58 AMI have not even been able to think about attempting splits.... truthfully i dont think my bone structure will let me do them all the way.. but I do have a goal of getting my hamstrings to just let GO! so I think it's a similar thing anyway!
good luck with your splits!

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Sun, January 6, 2008 - 9:14 PMActually I have a few resolutions. Dance wise, I have decided to practice at home more, get more invloved, and start injecting my own creativity. The holiday hafla had provided me with the encouragement needed. On a more personal level, I'm going to try to stop using four-letter words, when I am under duress. I also plan on getting more invloved with Yoga, and try to become more involved with my church.

Re: New Year's Resolutions
Thu, January 10, 2008 - 7:28 AMSeriously. Get thee to Kroger to the Organic food section. They're in a purple box with a bunny on it. I have just discovered today that these crackers also some in a Sour Cream and Onion flavor which my Kroger does not carry. I might be hunting them down at Amazon here this afternoon... and the white cheddar is a million times better than the regular cheddar. Although they are still good, they don't have that white cheese powder that sticks to your fingers.
I have a new recipe for cupcakes that look (and I hope taste) like those Hostess Cupcakes...you know with the swirl? I've never injected anything with cream filling, so we'll see how that goes.
I also have an awesome recipe for Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies that I'll make again.
And I'm thinking I need one more thing... Maybe a good brownie?
