Hey everyone, we have a really cool workshop and an amazing show coming up, right here in SW Ohio.
Habeeba's is bringing Elena Lentini to town for a workshop on September 13th, and she will be headlining a GIANT show that night, at Parrish Auditorium, Miami University, Hamilton OH.
Look at the flyer in the Tribe photos for details on registration and show tickets.
The show follows the evolution of bellydance through styles and fusions, and will feature more than 30 dancers and local troupes.
Anaya Gypsy will be there, representing the fringes of modern tribal fusion.
So, mark your calendars! Saturday, September 13th! Not to be missed.

Fri, September 12, 2008 - 12:17 PMAbsolutely.
Do you know if it's being taped? I've not heard any mention of it.
I hate to miss so many of the other acts and am hoping to be able to see them in some way or another.
Did I hear Katy say that Ruric will be there? -

Sun, September 14, 2008 - 6:50 AMI wanted to go to the show, but my man wasn't home from work in time to relief me of the big kids. Recap the highlights for us, huh? Anybody got any pics? video?? Would love to see Anaya, Rakadu, etc. -

Re: Behind the Veil!
Mon, September 15, 2008 - 6:35 AMha! I haven't used "tits" as a regular "awesome" adjective since college!
Yeah, in short, it was tits.
Nataj's solo was gorgeous, as was her costume. Linnett did a zar solo that had me bouncing in my seat with anticipation and brought Mellie to tears. There was a Seven Veils number that went flawlessly, Teresa's Rompi Rompi was totally fun and makes me want to wear a skirt again, some beautiful Isis wings by Amy, and a passionate fan dance by Elena Lentini that also made me want to wear a skirt. And go to Flamenco class.
And that's all I remember from the first half! The second half was spent warming up back stage and trying not to vomit. And apparently we totally Anayalated, so it sounds like it was a killer show all around! -

Re: Behind the Veil!
Mon, September 15, 2008 - 1:28 PMI am in total support of bringing back 'tits' as a slang term!!
Thanks for all the detail, Robyn. Sounds fantabu!! I'm sorry I missed Linnett's solo. If it made Mel cry, I'm totally jealous. I'm glad to see that there are so many opportunities to watch Anaya perform in the coming weeks. Hope to see you all soon!! Love, R
