Exciting Afternoon Workshops

1 to 3 PM Ghawazee Improvisation Style: 2 hours $40 ($35 before May 4th)

The Ghawazee are Egyptian street and celebration dancers. Their dance will be taught in a tribal style cued format using Banat Mazin Ghawzee moves. Basic finger cymbals will be taught and are usually used in this style but can be eliminated by the dancer if needed. There will be a chance to try it all out at the evening hafla if you desire?

3:30 to 5:30 Layering Isolations with Melody and Rhythm 2 hours $40 ($35 before May 4th)

This workshop focuses on combinations using specific isolations and layering techniques. Learn how to create flow from one move to another and how to layer arms, torso and hip isolations with footwork to different elements found in Middle Eastern music.

Then JOIN US FOR AN EVENING OF DANCING at our Student Hafla! Featuring both performances by our students and Saqra and OPEN JAM! Doors open at 7:30 PM - $10 at the door.
